About CaribX

CaribX is a privately-owned business registered and headquartered in the UK with offices in the Caribbean, Houston and Singapore.

The founders of the company have an impressive track record in the start up of successful oil and gas exploration companies. In particular, Chris Matchette-Downes was the co-founder of East African Exploration (EAX), which went on to become part of Afren plc (now a London FTSE 250 quoted company) and Chris Atkinson was the founder of Serica Energy plc (now listed on the London AIM exchange and Toronto TSX-V exchange).

CaribX’s unique exploration advantage is the result of undertaking a two year detailed, screening analysis of the Caribbean and Central American region which has resulted in the high grading of areas with optimal petroleum potential. CaribX has unique access to certain technologies that reduce the cost of exploration, minimise exploration risk and high grade areas for seismic and ultimate drilling. The combined single platform approach allows vast areas to be surveyed quickly, cheaply, thoroughly and with minimum environmental impact; providing gradiometry, magnetic and background seep information at rates of around 1,000 line km per day.

CaribX is a ground-floor, frontier exploration business and the view of the team is that the Caribbean has been overlooked and under-explored for many years. It is viewed as being similar to the situation in East Africa several years ago which was equally over-looked but has since gone on to contain many new exciting new petroleum finds.

CaribX has several strategic service provider alliances along with access to oils data and concept-changing petroleum geochemistry data and analysis.

CaribX is about real ideas, real science, and real opportunities -  just as EAX was in East Africa ten years ago.
